The indications, contra-indications and technique of applying tarpaṇa to the eyes is described (24.2–5).787 After tarpaṇa, a puṭapāka should be applied. This preparation is of three types: snehana, lekhana and prasādana (24.6); the materials to be used in preparing them and their indications are mentioned (24.7–9),788 followed by the technique of preparing and administering a puṭapāka (24.10–11).789
