KHAṆḌAKĀPYA is in the Aṣṭāṅgasaṃgraha (Sū.1.11) a medical authority who contradicts Ātreya’s views on the diet of a pregnant woman. He also makes his appearance in the Bhelasaṃhitā (Sū.4.30), where he takes part in the discussion on the formation of the embryo.⁵¹
