v2.c30.646

577 Identified as mayūratuttha (ad Ci.14.55) and karparikātuttha (ad Ci.25.117) by Cakra, as karparikātuttha by Jejjata (ad Ci.25.117). Cakra (ad Ci.7.108) distinguishes between mayūra- and kharpārikātuttha. Ca.Ci.7.114 mentions both tuttha and amṛtāsaṅja, which indicates that these substances are not the same. Amṛtāsaṅga is interpreted as blue vitriol (copper sulphate) by the Gulabkunverba team, P. Rāy and H.N. Gupta, and P.V. Sharma. MW regards it as blue vitriol too (compare PW). See on amṛtāsaṅga, karparikātuttha, mayūratuttha, etc.: Dhanvantarinighaṇṭu 3.145–146; Rājanighaṇṭu 13.205–206ab. Mayūratuttha is peacock ore, karparikātuttha calamine according to S. Ārya (1984): 20.
