938 Vṛddhatrayī 132. G. Mukhopadhyaya (HIM III, 566–571) and G.P. Srivastava (1954: 34–35) distinguish Parāśara I or Vṛddhaparāśara, grandson of Vasiṣṭha and father of Vyāsa, from Parāśara II, the pupil of Ātreya; this view is rejected by Sūramcandra (I, 214).
