429 G. Hāldār (Vṛddhatrayī 56) places him in the twelfth century. B. Tripāṭhī, who regards him as a commentator on the Carakasaṃhitā, assigns him to the thirteenth century (bhūmikā, 21, to his ed. of the Carakasaṃhitā).
