The chapters of the Bhelasaṃhitā usually begin in the same way as in the *Carakasaṃhitā*, but they end differently, with the words ity āha bhagavān Ātreyaḥ. Unlike the *Caraka-* and *Suśrutasaṃhitā*, the work has not been revised by some later author. The preserved version, however, differs from an earlier text that once must have been current.
