Hemacandra’s sources for the compilation of the *Nighaṇṭuśeṣa* are almost completely unknown, but he may have consulted the *Aṣṭāṅganighaṇṭu*. 517 The subsection on lotuses and water-lilies and the whole sixth section have been taken over almost verbatim from his own *Abhidhānacintāmaṇi* (4.226–248).
