The Guṇasaṃgraha begins with eleven introductory verses, followed by a dravyāvalī, in which the names of all the drugs of the seven vargas are enumerated in their due order. The next part is on dravya, rasa, vīrya, vipāka, and prabhāva. The main portion consists of a description of the qualities and actions of the drugs, classified according to the seven vargas. Eighteen subsequent vargas treat of the qualities and actions of dietetic articles: pānīya-, kṣīra-, dadhi-, takra-, navanīta-, ghṛta-, taila-, madhu-, ikṣu-, madya-, mūtra-, śūka-, dhānya-, jūrṇa-, tṛṇadhānya-, śimbidhānya-, anupāna-, and māṃsavarga. The last chapter, miśrakādhyāya, deals with miscellaneous subjects. The treatise ends with about eight concluding lines.
