The six tastes are classified into three rasas (madhura, kaṭuka, amla) and three uparasas (tikta, kaṣāya, lavaṇa),682 a feature not found in human āyurveda. The seven tissues (dhātu) are connected with seven sages: rasa with Ātreya, rakta with Vasiṣṭha, māṃsa with Kāśyapa, medas with Gautama, asthi with Bharadvāja, majjā with Kauśika, and śukra with Jamadagni.683
