**Subjects of Study.** The name *Ānvīkshakī* stands for the sciences derived from subjective or metaphysical speculation involving keen introspection. Three such different subjects or systems of thought and philosophy are known to Kauṭilya, viz. *Sāṁkhya*, *Yoga*, and *Lokāyata*.
