The Veda imparts the knowledge of its aforesaid two subjects, *Dharma* and *Brahma*, in its three parts called (1) *Pūrva*- or *Karma-kāṇḍa*, (2) *Madhya*- or *Devatā* (*Upāsanā*)-*Kāṇḍa*, and (3) *Uttara*- or *Jñāna-kāṇḍa*.
