Now, according to a manuscript⁴, *Aṣṭāsāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā* was copied in the 4th year of the reign of Govindapāladēva. This Govindapāladēva, thinks Banerji,⁵ was very likely a Pāla King, though it cannot be said for certain if he descended from the Imperial Pālā dynasty or not.¹ He ruled over Magadha from A.D. 1161 to 1197.²
