Va. identifies (I. 388) the present author with Dāmodara, au. of *Muhūrtābharaṇa*, but this is not possible, for the former belonged to the Bhārgava-gotra while the latter was of the Bhāradvāja-gotra; *cf.* the Intro. verse to *Muhūrtābharaṇa* (Ms. Kerala T. 71): *teṣām viduṣām madhye Bhāradvājagotrajātā ye* |
