The nature of the contents of the works has been indicated by adding, after the titles, their subjects such as: Astronomy (astron.), Saṃhitā, Tantra, Karaṇa (kar.), Eclipse computation (ecl.), Astrology (astrol.), Jātaka (jā.), Praśna (pra), Muhūrta (muh.), Prognostication, Natural astrology (nat. astrol.), arithmetic (arith.) etc. Sanskrit works are given no special indication to that effect but Malayalam works are distinguished by the addition of ‘(Mal.)’ after their titles.
