Aniruddha goes so far as to hold that both “isomeric” and “heterogenic” combinations are real cases of constitutive contact. (आरम्भकसंयोग, *e.g.* भौतिकवायोर्देहारम्भकत्वम् —अनिरुद्ध on Sutra 113, Chap. V.). But in the later Sáṅkhya-Pátañjala the current teaching denied this—वहूनामुपादानायोगात् (Sutra 102, Chap. V.), where विज्ञानभिक्षु notes—बहूनां भिन्नजातीयानां चोपादानत्वं न दृष्टमिति सजातीयमेवोपादानम्। इतरच्च भूतचतुष्टयमुपष्टम्भकम्।
