It may be here noted that Gaṅgeśa, the author of the Tattvachintámaṇi, conjectures that even gold can be evaporated or made to disappear by the application of intense heat: अथ द्रुतद्रुततरादेः क्रमशः प्रतीतेः प्रबलानलसंयोगेन सुवर्णनाशात् तद्द्रवता नश्यति । But Mathuránátha notes here : भस्मप्राक्कालोच्छेदसमये । (सन्निकर्षवादरहस्य).
