「毗婆尸佛父名槃頭，剎利王種，母名槃頭婆提，王所治城名曰槃頭婆提。」佛時頌曰：
“The Buddha Vipaśyin’s father was named Bandhuma, and he was from a lineage of warrior kings. His mother was named Bandhuvatī, and the king ruled from a city named Bandhuvatī.”
The Buddha then spoke in verse:
