The Long Āgama Sūtra 8.60

8.60

佛告梵志：「汝將無謂佛為利養而說法耶？勿起是心！若有利養，盡以施汝。吾所說法，微妙第一，為滅不善，增益善法。」

The Buddha told the wanderer, “Did you think the Buddha teaches the Dharma for no reason other than gain? Don’t have such a thought. If there’s gain, it’ll all be yours. The Dharma I teach is sublime and supreme. It ceases what’s unskillful and increases skillful qualities.”
