attained and embraced generosity, self-restraint, forbearance, vigor, and samādhi; attended upon many hundreds of thousands of nayutas of kotis of Buddhas; in some places gave gifts, guarded morality, lived the celibate life in some places, elsewhere did not indulge in food; cultivated forbearance, aroused vigor, accomplished samādhi, cultivated wisdom; performed manifold and diverse meritorious deeds, vast and measureless. Because of that, unexcelled knowledge was obtained by me. Through many hundreds of thousands of nayutas of kotis of eons, while practicing the bodhisattva conduct formerly, false speech, slander, harsh words, and frivolous talk were avoided by the Tathāgata; many kinds of wholesome vocal action were cultivated and multiplied.
