manopūrvvaṃgamā dhammā manośreṣṭhā manojavā |
manasā ca praduṣṭena bhāṣate vā karoti vā |
tato naṃ dukham anneti cakram vā vahato padaṃ ||

1 Dhp 1 / Mind precedes all dharmas; mind is their chief; they are made of mind. / If one speaks or acts with a corrupted mind, / then suffering follows them just as the wheel follows the ox's hoof.
