saṃsevamānaḥ pāpo hi saṃspṛṣṭaḥ saṃsphṛśet parān |
śaro liptaḥ kalāpasthān aliptān upaliṃpati |
upalepabhayād dhīro naiva pāpasakhā bhavet ||
Uv25:10 / For an evil person who is associated with, touching [others], will affect them, / as an arrow smeared [with poison] contaminates the unsmeared arrows in a quiver. / Out of fear of contamination, the steadfast person should never be an evil person's friend.
