And under the sway of play and pleasure, / And under the sway of grief and illness, / Through the fault of not being satisfied with wealth— / Whatever sins I have committed, / And mingling with non-aryas, / Through the faults of jealousy, stinginess, deceit, / Guile, and poverty— / Whatever sins I have committed, / And at times of destitution and decay, / Driven by fear of desires, / And by having become impoverished— / Whatever sins I have committed, / And under the power of an unsteady mind, / And under the sway of desire and anger, / Tormented by hunger and thirst— / Whatever sins I have committed, / And for the sake of food and drink, / For the sake of women, and for the sake of clothing, / Through various torments of affliction— / Whatever sins I have committed, / And the sins of body, speech, and mind, / Accumulated as the three types of misdeeds— / Whatever has been committed in such a manner, / All of that I confess. / Toward the buddhas and the dharmas, / And likewise toward the śrāvakas, / Whatever disrespect I have shown, / All of that I confess. / Also toward the pratyekabuddhas / And toward the bodhisattvas, / Whatever disrespect was shown, / All of that I confess. / Also toward the speakers of the true Dharma, / Whatever disrespect was shown, / And not respecting the Dharma as well, / All of that I confess. / Because of my perpetual ignorance, / Renouncing the sublime Dharma, / And disrespecting father and mother— / All of that I confess. / Being foolish and childish, / And obscured by desire, anger, delusion, / Pride, and arrogance— / All of that I confess. / In the worlds of the ten directions / I shall make offerings to the Ten-Powered Ones. / Sentient beings of the ten directions / I shall deliver from all suffering. / All inconceivable sentient beings / I shall establish on the ten grounds. / Having remained on the ten grounds, / May they all become Tathāgatas! / As long as the ocean of suffering
