When a bhikṣu expounds the sūtras for an upāsikā, there are five matters: First, if the upāsikā comes holding a small child to inquire about the sūtras, he should not speak to her with lustful intent. Second, if lustful thoughts arise, he must not approach to fondle or play with the child. Third, he must not pull her to sit beside him. Fourth, if an upāsikā asks the bhikṣu to teach the sūtra on sesame oil spells, he should have a man hold a willow branch and present it to the bhikṣu; he should take the willow branch from the man's hand, and if otherwise, he should not speak. Fifth, if an upāsaka and an upāsikā come together to inquire about the sūtras, if the upāsaka departs first, the bhikṣu should also go out; to do otherwise is contrary to the Dharma.
