問：「白衣投一比丘欲出家，比丘即受，更為請和上戒師。所投比丘故是師非？」答：「非師。若後從受法者，可為法師。若依隨者，可為依止師。」

Question: "If a layperson comes to a bhikṣu wishing to renounce the householder life, and the bhikṣu immediately accepts him, and further invites an upādhyāya and an ordination master on his behalf, is the bhikṣu who was approached still his master or not?" Answer: "He is not the master. If the candidate later receives the Dharma from him, he may be the Dharma master. If he relies on and follows him, he may be his niśraya master."
