問：「白衣投一比丘欲出家，比丘即受，更為請和尚戒師。所投比丘故是師非？」答：「非師。若後從受法者，可為法師。若依隨者，可為依止師。」

Question: "If a layperson goes to a bhikṣu wishing to go forth, and the bhikṣu accepts him and further invites an upādhyāya and a precept master for him, is the bhikṣu to whom he went still his master or not?"
Answer: "He is not his master. If the person later receives the Dharma from him, he may be his Dharma master. If he relies on and follows him, he may be his niśraya master."
