問：「非佛堂，佛像在中，可在前食臥不？」答：「得。若佛在世猶於前食臥，況像不得耶？但臥須障。若有燈明，不得從光中過住。若自有燈明，得。」

It was asked, "In a place that is not a Buddha hall, if a Buddha image is present inside, may one eat or lie down in front of it?" It was answered, "One may. If when the Buddha was in the world one could still eat and lie down before him, how much more so before an image? However, lying down requires a screen. If there is a lit lamp, one must not pass through or stop in its light. If one has one's own lit lamp, it is permitted."
