2.12

「如我不喜杻械枷鏁桁械，繫閉縛勒，諸苦惱者，一切眾生亦復如是。是故菩薩，乃至喪失身命，終不枷鏁繫閉，杻械眾生。

'Just as I do not delight in being bound, locked up, tied, fettered, and subjected to various afflictions by wooden manacles, fetters, shackles, chains, pillories, and restraints, so too is it for all sentient beings. Therefore, the bodhisattva, even if it costs his body and life, will never bind, lock up, or put shackles and manacles on sentient beings.
