「大王！當知爾時王者，今大王身是；爾時獵師者，今提婆達多是；爾時一鴈悲鳴吐血者，今阿難是；爾時五百群鴈者，今五百阿羅漢是；爾時鴈王者，今我身是。
"Great King, you should know: the king at that time was you, the Great King today; the hunter at that time was Devadatta today; the single goose at that time that cried mournfully and spat blood was Ānanda today; the flock of five hundred geese at that time were the five hundred arhats today; and the goose king at that time was myself.
