「爾時阿難心生顧戀，如本不異；爾時五百阿羅漢飛騰虛空，亦如本不異；爾時提婆達多常欲毀害於我，我以慈悲力故，因乃得濟。」

"At that time, the affectionate yearning arising in Ānanda's heart was no different from how it is now; at that time, the five hundred arhats soaring into the sky was also no different from how it is now; at that time, Devadatta constantly wished to harm me, but because of the power of my loving-kindness and compassion, I was thereby able to be rescued."
