6.16

答曰：「有別相一切、總相一切，今言別相一切。有言：『佛能一切說，但眾生不能盡受。佛非不能說。』有言：『應云一切知，直言說，不得言一切說也。』」

Answer: "There is an 'everything' of particular characteristics and an 'everything' of universal characteristics; here it refers to an 'everything' of particular characteristics. Some say: 'The Buddha was capable of teaching everything, but sentient beings were unable to receive it all. It is not that the Buddha was unable to teach it.' Some say: 'One should say that he knew everything, and simply say that he taught; one cannot say that he taught everything.'"
