After one week, the Tathāgata came down from heaven to Jambudvīpa. Immeasurable hundreds of thousands of devas accompanied the Tathāgata, radiating great light; his spiritual power moved [the world], playing hundreds of thousands of kinds of celestial music. Up to all devas, all nāgas, spirits, gandharvas, kiṃnaras, mahoragas, humans, and non-humans—the entire great assembly gathered like clouds to pay homage and make offerings. At that time, King Udayana, surrounded by a great assembly, went out to welcome the Tathāgata from afar, bowed his head to the Buddha's feet, and withdrew to stand to one side.
