The commentary also states: "Among these, briefly speaking, there are four kinds of eyes: subsumed under form, subsumed under the paramārthasatya, subsumed under saṃvṛtisatya, and subsumed under all modes of all that should be known. That which is subsumed under form again has two kinds: the fruition of dharma and the fruition of cultivation. Because these are the coarse objects of the five eyes, they are the first, subsumed under form." The explanation says: The physical and divine eyes have material sense faculties as their nature, meaning they are composed of the pure material four great elements; or else, produced by ripening and nourishment, it is called the physical eye—this is called the fruition of dharma, and it extends to the other realms and the four dhyānas. If it is attained by cultivating dhyāna to remove obstructions, this is called the fruition of cultivation; it exists only in the grounds of the four dhyānas, meaning that with respect to all forms, internally and externally, on both sides, inside and outside, above and below, it is able to see all of them.
