○十四、斷無人度生嚴土疑。論云：「若無菩薩者，諸佛亦不成菩提，眾生亦不入涅槃，亦無清淨佛土。何故諸菩薩發心，欲令眾生入涅槃，起心修行清淨佛土？」○斷之文三：初、遮度生念三：○初、明失念。

14. Severing the doubt that there is no person who liberates beings and purifies realms. The treatise says: "If there are no bodhisattvas, Buddhas would also not accomplish bodhi, sentient beings would also not enter nirvāṇa, and there would also be no pure Buddha lands. Why do bodhisattvas produce the mind wishing to cause sentient beings to enter nirvāṇa, and generate the mind to cultivate pure Buddha lands?" The text that severs it has three parts: first, warding off the thought of liberating beings, which has three parts: first, explaining the loss of mindfulness.
