From "three times a day..." downward points to the antidote in the sūtra. The meaning is: to realize the noble nature, one cannot advance without wisdom; the sūtra's painstaking comparison is intended to stimulate effort. This is the same as the mode of admonition and encouragement in the Avataṃsaka-sūtra, where it says: "The dharmatā is truly eternal and free of mental thoughts; / The two vehicles can also attain this. / Not by this is one the World-Honoured One, / But only by profound, unobstructed wisdom." However, this is a specific intention of an antidote, and therefore it must speak strictly from one side to make people abandon concentration and cultivate wisdom. If considered in terms of an exhaustive, comprehensive discussion, concentration and wisdom must be studied equally. The Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra says: "If concentration and wisdom are unequal, one does not see the Buddha-nature, and nescience and wrong views arise from this." The preceding eleventh abiding was precisely the gateway of concentration; because the antidotes differ, it must be so. Practitioners must practice both concurrently.
