無以生滅等者。此乃反用《淨名》經文。彼云：「無以生滅心行說實相法」，此意云：既不得以生滅心說，豈得以生滅心聽。既是不生不滅實相之法，云何以生滅心行說之聽之，無以妙饌置於穢器。

On "Do not with a mind of arising and ceasing..." and so forth: this is an inverse application of the text of the Vimalakīrti Sūtra. That text says: "Do not, with mental activities of arising and ceasing, expound the Dharma of dharmatā." The present intention is: since one must not expound it with a mind of arising and ceasing, how could one listen to it with a mind of arising and ceasing? Since it is the Dharma of dharmatā, neither arising nor ceasing, how could one expound it or listen to it with mental activities of arising and ceasing? Do not place fine food into a defiled vessel.
