At that time, the sixteen great kings, having heard the Buddha's seven admonitions expounding the events of future ages, wept and sobbed, their voices shaking the trisāhasra-mahāsāhasra-lokadhātu, and the sun, moon, five planets, and twenty-eight lunar mansions lost their radiance and disappeared. Then the various kings each with sincere minds received and upheld the Buddha's words, not regulating the disciples of the fourfold assembly from leaving the household life to practice the Path, but acting in accordance with the Buddha's teachings. At that time, the great assembly—the eighteen Brahmā kings and the sons of the gods of the six desire heavens—all sighed, saying: "At that time, the world will be empty and desolate; it will be an age without a Buddha."
