1.59

「舍利弗」者，亦是外國音，舍利言身，弗之言子，其母名身，故言身子。後得羅漢，其人聰明第一也。

"Śāriputra" is also a foreign phonetic rendering: "śāri" means body, and "putra" means son. His mother's name was Śārī (Body), hence he is called Śāriputra (Son of Body). Later he attained arhatship; he was foremost in wisdom.
