闡提謗大乘障，外道橫計身中有我障，聲聞怖畏生死障，支佛背捨利益眾生障；菩薩修四法為對治：修信、修般若、修虛空定首楞嚴定、修大悲，得清淨法界，到彼岸，見如來性，生如來家，是佛子也。既道見如來性，生如來家，當知用如來為父也。無量法門，不可說不可說，皆能生佛子（云云）。

The obstacle of an icchantika slandering the Great Vehicle, the obstacle of non-Buddhists falsely imputing a self within the body, the obstacle of śrāvakas fearing birth-and-death, and the obstacle of pratyekabuddhas turning their backs on benefiting sentient beings—bodhisattvas cultivate four practices to counter them: cultivating faith, cultivating prajñā, cultivating space-like samādhi and Śūraṅgama-samādhi, and cultivating great compassion. They attain the pure realm of phenomena, reach the other shore, see the Tathāgata-nature, and are born into the house of the Tathāgata—they are the Buddha's children. Since it is said that they see the Tathāgata-nature and are born into the Tathāgata's house, one should know that they take the Tathāgata as their father. Limitless, ineffable and ineffable Dharma-gates can all give birth to Buddha-children, and so forth.
