9.104

有師云：常住為宗，但未極上，是覆相明常。私謂都非經意，常若被覆，宗何所顯？常不被覆，常則非宗。

A master said: ‘Permanence is the central purport, but it has not reached the utmost supreme; it clarifies permanence through concealed characteristics.’ I personally say: this is entirely not the intention of the scripture. If permanence were concealed, what would the central purport reveal? If permanence were not concealed, permanence would not be the central purport.
