龍師云：但以果為宗。妙法者，是如來靈智體也。眾麁斯盡為妙，動靜軌物為法，法既真妙，借蓮華譬之，所以果智為宗也。私謂果不孤立，云何棄其因，又乖文也。

Master Long said: ‘Only the effect is taken as the central purport. The wonderful Dharma is the substance of the Tathāgata's numinous wisdom. The total exhaustion of all coarseness is “wonderful”; regulating things through movement and stillness is “Dharma.” Since the Dharma is truly wonderful, it borrows the lotus as an analogy; therefore, the wisdom of the effect is the central purport.’ I personally say: the effect does not stand alone; how could one abandon its cause? Furthermore, it contradicts the scripture's text.
