If one can associate with a good spiritual friend, hear from them the methods of adaptable expedients, internally contemplate correctly, believe in the Buddha's bodhi, believe in the well-expounded Dharma, and believe in the pure merits of the Saṅgha, this is called believing in the jewels. Stating that form is impermanent up to stating that consciousness is impermanent—this is called believing in the aggregates. Knowing that there are suffering, arising, cessation, and path—this is called believing in the truths. If it is like this, one abides in Summit; if not like this, then there is retrogression from Summit.
