「避世」等者，捨名利為「避世」，進己道為「守玄」，陳少主再敕頻迎，隋文帝有敕請住，故云「被徵為二國師」。

'Avoiding the world' and so forth: renouncing fame and profit is 'avoiding the world'; advancing one's own path is 'holding to the profound'. The Young Lord of the Chen repeatedly issued edicts warmly inviting him, and Emperor Wen of the Sui issued an edict requesting him to stay; hence it is said, 'summoned as national master to two dynasties.'
