次約教中牒前初釋判屬三藏，準前文故但云所敬等前。從「今明」下應義通偏圓，以前文中且對外釋，故云三藏。次「大者」下約後三教，初明多義，但是約事，後三不可更加其數，但約所知以釋其多，故前通釋大、多、勝三各具三義，故此後後漸優於前。約別圓者，昔則從初、今從得記，別存教道。言「大力羅漢」者，羅漢中大，即無疑解脫也。

Next, within "according to the teachings," citing the previous first explanation, he judges it as belonging to the Tripiṭaka [teaching]; following the previous text, he merely says "what is revered" and so forth before. From "now clarifying" onward, the meaning should encompass both the one-sided and the perfect; because the previous text tentatively explained it in contrast to the non-Buddhists, it spoke of the Tripiṭaka [teaching]. Next, from "'great' means" onward, it is according to the latter three teachings: first, clarifying the meaning of "many" is merely according to phenomena; the latter three cannot further increase in number, but their "many" is explained merely according to what is known. Therefore, the previous general explanation of the three—great, many, and superior—each possesses three meanings; hence these later ones are progressively superior to the former. Regarding the Distinct and Perfect [teachings], in the past it was from the beginning, but now it is from receiving the prediction; the Distinct [teaching] preserves the pedagogical path. As for "arhats of great power," they are the great among arhats, namely those of doubt-free vimokṣa.
