「以如是」下，約序等三。初文先通指二序，故云序分通無可表故。「眾見」下，別指別序，為生正之由，故云眾見希有。「顒顒」者，仰也。「佛乘機」下，正宗。三「非但」下，正明正宗為流通之本。三段既其俱生種等，則知字字句句會會味味，世世念念常為眾生，作一佛乘種熟脫也。

From 'Through such' onward treats the three factors of the preface and the others. The first text first points generally to the two prefaces; hence it is called the preface section, because generally there is nothing it cannot express. From 'The assembly saw' onward specifically points to the specific preface as the reason for giving rise to the main body; hence it says 'the assembly saw what was rare.' 'Gazing upward' (yuányuán) means looking up with veneration. From 'The Buddha, riding on the capacity' onward is the main body. Third, from 'Not only' onward directly clarifies that the main body is the root of the transmission. Since the three divisions all equally produce planting and the others, we know that every character, every sentence, every assembly, every flavor, in every world and every thought-moment, constantly acts for sentient beings to plant, ripen, and liberate them in the One Buddha Vehicle.
