5.141

有人言：約因緣義判之，謂因緣所生法，知法是因緣而成，名開佛知見。我說即是空，謂知因緣法是空，名示佛知見也。亦為是假名，謂識空不空皆是假名，秤為悟也。亦是中道義，即是入義也。評曰：四義橫論耳。又四義之中，初二後一正明諸法假名說是教門，亦非今意也。

Some say: determining it in terms of the meaning of causes and conditions, it is said that for dharmas produced by causes and conditions, knowing that dharmas are formed from causes and conditions is called opening the knowledge and vision of the buddhas. 'I say that they are emptiness' refers to knowing that dharmas of causes and conditions are empty, which is called showing the knowledge and vision of the buddhas. 'They are also provisional names' refers to recognizing that both empty and non-empty are provisional names, which is termed awakening. 'They are also the meaning of the middle way' is precisely the meaning of entering. Critical assessment: these four meanings are merely discussed horizontally. Furthermore, among these four meanings, the first two and the last one specifically explain that the provisional naming of all dharmas is an approach of teaching, which is also not the present meaning.
