From "When I was contemplating thus" onward is the second part: the Buddhas of the ten directions encouraging the preaching of the triyāna. In the text there are two parts: first, praising and extolling; second, exhorting and encouraging. The first section has three parts: half a line clarifies the Buddhas of the ten directions manifesting their bodies. The reason they manifested their bodies is that Śākyamuni's preaching of the three within the one was reasonable and accorded with their capacities; hence, it repeatedly moved the Buddhas to manifest their bodies in response. The next half-line is comforting and praising. As for "comforting": concealing his true virtues and saving sentient beings by means of the Dharma enjoyed by the impoverished is an act of enduring hardship; now, following worldly conventions, comfort was required. Next, as for "praising": positing the upāya of the triyāna was reasonable and accorded with their capacities; this is worthy of praise. The next whole line directly gives the words of praise; the matter is as stated in the text. From "We also have all attained" onward is the second part: clarifying the Buddhas' own account, which serves as an exhortation and encouragement. In the text there are three parts: first, clarifying that the present Buddhas conform above to the past Buddhas' upāya in preaching the three; the second verse clarifies that the present Buddhas accord below with faculties and natures, and for this reason preach the three; the third half-line clarifies the intention behind preaching the three.
