釋名為二：一通釋、二別釋。通者，人法合明。別者，人法各辯。何故爾？緣有利鈍，說有廣略。

Explaining the name is twofold: first, a general explanation; second, a specific explanation. The general one explains person and dharma together; the specific one distinguishes person and dharma separately. Why so? Because capacities may be sharp or dull, and exposition may be extensive or abridged.
