第二別釋名者，為二：先明觀世音、次明普門。以何因緣名觀世音？通釋如前；別者則以境智因緣故名觀世音。云何境智？境智有二：一思議境智、二不思議境智。思議境智又二：一約理外、二約理內。

Second, specifically explaining the names consists of two parts: first, explaining Avalokiteśvara; second, explaining the universal gate. By what causes and conditions is it named Avalokiteśvara? The general explanation is as given previously; as for the specific one, it is named Avalokiteśvara by virtue of the causes and conditions of object and wisdom. What are object and wisdom? Object and wisdom are twofold: first, conceivable object and wisdom; second, inconceivable object and wisdom. Conceivable object and wisdom are again twofold: first, according to what is outside principle; second, according to what is within principle.
