Fifth, universal entry into dharma-gates: if the two vehicles enter one dharma-gate, they cannot enter a second, let alone many. If one cultivates successive practices with stages of shallow and deep, thinking, 'I only know this one dharma-gate and cannot know the rest,' this too is not universal. If one enters the king of samādhis, all [samādhis] enter into it. For instance, when a king arrives, he must have an entourage, and the entourage also has an entourage; the king of samādhis is also like this. When entering this samādhi, all samādhis enter into it—namely, the samādhi of the three truths. The samādhi of the three truths further has immeasurable dharma-gates as its retinue, all of which also enter into the king of samādhis; therefore, it is called universal entry into dharma-gates.
