Ninth, universal offering to Buddhas: in this regard there are two: first, phenomenal; second, principle. The *Avataṃsaka* states, 'It is not to make offerings to one Buddha or the atoms of one land's Buddhas, up to making offerings to ineffable-ineffable Buddhas; one can, without arising from the cessation absorption, manifest all deportments, dwell in meditation with joined palms, praise all Dharma kings, and pervade the ten directions with body, life, wealth, and all offering requisites, just like clouds and rain, making offerings to all Buddhas.' Principle understanding: the mind of correct contemplation of perfect wisdom is called awakening; awakening is the meaning of Buddha. The merits of ten thousand practices perfume and cultivate this wisdom; this wisdom is called everything. Cultivating merits to support and provide for this wisdom is itself making offerings to the omniscient wisdom. The *Vimalakīrti* states, 'With one meal, giving to all.' Hence it is said: universal offering to Buddhas.
